Success was the word on every lip and within two months their band won a rock competition and was awarded a free recording of a record. That was the start of a four year tour playing at every youth club in town, giving countless shows to a more or less enthusiastic audience. They recorded another two albums and carried on the tour, but eventually the hard work fed them up leading to the final break up of the band. Another rock competition was to be their last gig, but sadly they won a new recording session. So the only solution was to go back into the studio.
This disc found its way to their manager to be. The band decided to give it another shot and started rehearsing regularly writing new material. But this got hard when two of the members in turns moved out of town. Naturally their work suffered, but they succeeded to make another demo. "West Side Club" they recorded in the basement back home and was the start of a new era in the history of this band. For the first time everyone was pleased with the result and a big creative step had been taken. In the past the many strong desires of different members made their recordings rather messy, but now they were on the right track.
In the year of 2002 with two of them still in other parts of the country they entered another low, but the successful recording was followed by a feeling of a good foundation to build on. During the fall the band played a handful of gigs and wrote new songs. When the deserters returned to town the Ackermans made their most recent recording, still in the same basement, and through it they came into contact with the label Big Brothel who wanted to release the songs.
In the spring and summer of 2003 they played a lot of gigs, among those one at the Hultsfred festival and another at the rock club Debaser in Stockholm. Several labels and publishers showed interest which led to more gigs and a growing reputation. In November 03 the debut EP "Run Run Run with The Ackermans" was released.
Then in 2004 the band were signed to Plugged Records who have released the debut cd-album "No One Knows Us Better Than The Ackermans" early 2006 and also 3 singles and 2 videos. Now in 2007 Ackermans has just been signed by Japanese label Avex and are looking for new adventures! The debut album has during 2006 also been released worldwide on vinyl trough German label Alien Snatch.
